The US is set to implement an additional 100% tariff on Chinese imports starting Saturday (11/01). The decision sparked volatility in financial markets, heightening investor fears of an escalating US–China trade conflict. The S&P 500 recorded its steepest decline since April as investors reacted to China’s new export restrictions and growing geopolitical uncertainty. Despite the mounting tensions between the two nations, both sides are still expected to meet at the upcoming APEC Summit in Seoul, signaling a cautious step toward renewed diplomatic engagement.
