PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk (VKTR) could receive up to Rp2 trillion in funding from PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM). According to VKTR director Indah Permatasari Saugi, the company signed an indicative non-binding term sheet with DIM and/or its affiliates as the investor on Friday (08/28).

She added that PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (BNBR) will also act as the guarantor for the proposed funding, which forms part of the company's broader financing strategy. The maximum Rp2 trillion in funding is expected to support VKTR's business expansion in the mobility-as-a-service sector.

VKTR management said the proposed funding would primarily be used to finance the procurement of electric buses and/or electric trucks, as well as for other business purposes.

The proposed funding also includes conversion rights for the lender or investor, which could allow DIM and/or its affiliates to become shareholders in VKTR if DIM exercises the option in the future.

However, VKTR's management stressed that the proposed cooperation among VKTR, BNBR, and Danantara is in its early stages of exploration and discussion, and that the term sheet is non-binding, reflecting only the parties' preliminary discussions and is subject to the signing of definitive agreements.

Once the definitive documents have been signed, VKTR's management said it would comply fully with all applicable rules and regulations governing the transaction.

According to a disclosure filed with the Indonesia Stock Exchange, PT Bakrie Metal Industries (BMI), a subsidiary of BNBR, acquired 3 billion VKTR shares on Friday (08/21) 2026 at Rp100 per share, well below the stock's prevailing market value at the time.

The price was significantly below the market price, as VKTR shares closed at Rp915 on that same day, meaning BMI acquired the shares at a discount of nearly 90 percent compared to the closing price.

The transaction was intended as an investment and increased BMI's stake in VKTR from 14.20% to 21.06%, strengthening the Bakrie Group's overall position in the company. BNBR itself remained VKTR's controlling shareholder, with a 24.41% stake as of the end of July, while public shareholders held the remaining 61.23% of total outstanding shares.
