Superbank’s initial public offering (IPO) attracted substantial investors, receiving interest from more than one million investors during the offering period. The IPO was oversubscribed by 318.69 times, based on the total demand relative to the shares offered.

Superbank released 4.4 billion shares to the public, targeting proceeds of approximately Rp3 trillion. Due to the overwhelming demand, retail investors obtained relatively small allocations.

On its first day of trading, Superbank’s management stated that the company’s priority after the IPO is to maintain sustainable performance beyond short-term market enthusiasm. The bank highlighted its commitment to measured expansion and ongoing enhancements to its digital banking platform to drive sustainable long-term value for shareholders.

During the IPO, Superbank shares were up 24.41% higher than the IPO price of Rp635by closing at Rp790 per share. The rise indicates a strong investor demand in the offering period and positive market sentiment toward the positioning of the bank as a digital-focused lender.

Even with the increase, the company's management emphasized that changes in share prices are driven by market dynamics, not the efforts of its managers. According to President Director Tigor M. Siahaan, Superbank has never had plans to cope with short-term price changes, but rather emphasized building the fundamentals of the business to achieve sustainable growth.

He  added that the company’s priority remains long-term performance and value creation, as secondary market trading is shaped by investor demand and overall market conditions.

Approximately 70% of the IPO proceeds will be allocated to working capital, primarily to support credit expansion. The remaining 30% will be invested in capital expenditure, focusing on technology, digital systems, operational infrastructure, AI and data analytics, and cybersecurity development.

The strong demand for Superbank’s IPO is seen as a positive signal for Indonesia’s capital market. Following its debut on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Superbank aims to accelerate business growth by leveraging Rp8 trillion in fresh capital to work and strengthen its role within the Grab and OVO digital ecosystems.

A major focus is on making Superbank services more seamlessly integrated into both apps, enabling users to seamlessly open accounts and become Superbank customers without leaving the respective platforms.
