Google signed an agreement to purchase artificial intelligence computing capacity from SpaceX in a deal valued at around US$920 million per month. The contract is scheduled to run from October 2026 through June 2029 and could exceed US$30 billion over its duration.

Under the agreement, SpaceX will provide Google with access to roughly 110,000 Nvidia GPUs, along with CPUs, memory, and supporting infrastructure required for large-scale AI workloads.

The agreement is expected to provide Google with significantly greater computing capacity over the coming years. Computing power from large GPU clusters has become essential for developing, training, and scaling advanced AI services across a wide range of applications.

Google plans to use the additional capacity to support its growing AI operations, including Gemini and enterprise AI offerings. Building and deploying new hyperscale data centers can take years, making external infrastructure agreements an attractive option for companies seeking immediate access to large amounts of computing power.

SpaceX has simultaneously expanded its presence in AI infrastructure by developing large-scale data center operations capable of supporting advanced AI training and inference workloads.

The transaction demonstrates how major technology firms are increasingly turning to partnerships and long-term infrastructure agreements to meet surging demand. Rather than relying solely on internally built facilities, companies are securing access to existing GPU capacity while new data center projects remain under development.

The agreement follows SpaceX's earlier AI computing contract with Anthropic, which secured the full capacity of the company's Colossus 1 facility in Memphis, Tennessee. Combined, the Google and Anthropic agreements are expected to generate approximately US$26 billion in annual revenue for SpaceX.

Under the terms of the Google contract, SpaceX is required to provide the agreed computing capacity, with payment adjustments and termination rights available if the promised GPU resources are not delivered. The agreement also allows either party to terminate the contract after an initial period with advance notice.

Throughout the partnership, Google retains ownership of its AI models, data, and intellectual property, while gaining access to large-scale computing infrastructure needed to support its artificial intelligence operations.
